In recent years, the university education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed remarkable development, which came as a result of the expansion of the establishment of universities and colleges and the interest in qualifying and attracting competent faculty members. The College of Engineering at the University of Hail was one of the colleges established by the Royal Decree in 1426 AH (2006 AD) to be a tributary of theoretical and applied engineering sciences.

Brief history

The College of Engineering at the University of Hail was established by Royal Decree in 1426 AH (2006 AD) and Higher Education Council Resolution No. 1426/38/6 AH, dated 26/5/1426 AH. The college began with a specialization in electrical engineering and now comprises eight academic departments offering bachelor's degrees. Since its inception, the college has witnessed a steady increase in student and faculty numbers. Its graduates possess a high academic standard and demonstrate continuous development, reflecting the college's commitment to innovation and leadership in engineering sciences and their applications. The college aims to contribute to the advancement of theoretical and applied engineering sciences and to drive development and progress in the Kingdom. The college is constantly striving for excellence in embodying the university's strategy of building community partnerships and establishing a comprehensive quality system. Its goal is for its graduates to excel and serve to improve the quality of life in the Hail region and beyond through scientific and applied research in various engineering fields. The college also contributes to meeting community needs through creativity and engineering innovation, fostering partnerships with community institutions and developing distinguished engineering professionals. The college is a leader in conducting research and studies, transferring knowledge, and localizing modern technologies to serve and develop society.

It is committed to attracting distinguished faculty members, both Saudi and international. The college also recruits many outstanding graduates to work as teaching assistants, preparing them for scholarships to pursue postgraduate studies at international universities. Furthermore, the college provides opportunities for distinguished Saudi and international students to pursue master's degrees. The college strives to serve the community and the engineering profession by offering consultations to the private and public sectors, providing specialized courses and workshops, holding local and international conferences, and participating in scientific forums locally, regionally, and globally.

The college offers eight specializations: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Interior Design. Students are eligible to enroll in the College of Engineering after completing the foundation year and fulfilling the specialization requirements. Students study at the college for four years (eight levels per study plan) to earn a bachelor's degree. In engineering. The college also offers graduate programs through which students can obtain a master's degree in engineering.
