1- Proposing the university’s annual research plan, and preparing the necessary draft budget for it in preparation for presenting it to the Council of the Deanship of Scientific Research.
2- Proposing regulations, rules and procedures governing the scientific research system at the university.
3- Approving research projects and studies, following up on their implementation, arbitrating them, and supporting them in accordance with the rules regulating that.
4- Coordinating work between research centers at the university, and encouraging joint research between departments and colleges to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of available resources.
5- Recommending approval to publish the research that the Deanship intends to publish after arbitration in accordance with the rules of arbitration and publishing.
6- Encouraging faculty members and researchers and urging them to conduct innovative scientific research, and creating research means and capabilities, to enable them to conduct their research in appropriate scientific conditions.
7- Establishing an information base for ongoing and completed research funded by the deanship.
8- Managing the financial, administrative and technical affairs related to scientific research in accordance with the rules and regulations of higher education.
9- Protecting the rights and intellectual property of scientific research funded by the deanship.
10- Exchanging research information with universities and other research centers.
11- Preparing and writing periodic and annual reports and the final account of scientific research activity at the university in preparation for submitting it to the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research.
