Department Overview

The Intellectual Awareness Department works to promote and strengthen intellectual and national values that contribute to building an aware and balanced society, while fostering the principles of moderation, tolerance, and national belonging.



  • Loyalty to religion, the King, and the nation, while promoting national belonging and the values of moderation and centrism. 
  • Preventing extremist ideologies and addressing their effects.  
  • Reinforcing religious and national principles members of society.

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

We live in a time characterized by rapid transformations and the continuous exchange of ideas and information. This reality places upon us a profound national and academic responsibility to safeguard the intellectual well-being of our students, faculty members, and staff, and to strengthen the values that contribute to a secure and cohesive society. Guided by this responsibility, the Intellectual Awareness Unit pursues an ambitious vision of achieving leadership in fostering a safe, aware, and intellectually sound community.

Our mission extends beyond protection to empowerment and development. We are committed to reinforcing Islamic and national values, promoting responsible citizenship, strengthening loyalty and belonging to our nation and its leadership, and cultivating the principles of moderation, balance, and constructive dialogue as fundamental pillars of our university environment.

Through a range of preventive, educational, and awareness initiatives, we strive to enhance intellectual awareness, address misconceptions, and equip members of the university community with the critical thinking skills necessary to recognize, confront, and refute extremist and deviant ideologies. In doing so, we seek to contribute to the advancement and prosperity of our society and our beloved Kingdom.

We invite all faculty members, staff, and students to join us as active partners in promoting intellectual awareness and fostering a culture of responsibility, respect, and informed engagement. Together, we can build a university community that serves as a model of intellectual integrity, moderation, and excellence.

The administration seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To strengthen loyalty to religion and the leadership, and to reinforce national identity and values. 
  2. To promote a culture of moderation and the values of tolerance and coexistence. 
  3. To prevent extremist ideologiesand address their effects. 
  4. To monitor intellectual violations, extremist ideas and behaviors, and negative phenomena within the university in accordance with the regulations established by the Ministry and applicable laws and bylaws.
  5. To encourage research initiatives related to intellectual issues and to promote national identity and unity.

Organizational Structure

Department Tasks

  • Monitoring data, violations, phenomena, and expected risks related to intellectual awareness and functional and national duties, analyzing their results, and developing remedial plans for them.
  • Reviewing programs for monitoring and preventing extremist ideology at the university and following up on their implementation after their approval.
  • Proposing research, studies, programs and activities related to intellectual awareness, enhancing belonging and national cohesion, and preventing extremist thought.
  • Preparing and reviewing programs to promote moderation, belonging, and national cohesion, and supervising their implementation after their approval.
  • Preparing annual plans for programs and activities and periodic reports on the unit’s activity, and submitting them to the authorized person for approval.
  • Taking care of foreign scholarship students, promoting intellectual aspects, moderation and moderation, and strengthening their relations with the Kingdom and their university institutions.
