Praise be to God who taught with the pen, taught man what he did not know. May blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the imam of the righteous, and God’s mercy to the worlds, and upon his family and his honorable companions, and whoever follows their guidance and follows their path until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows:
Universities today are witnessing a commendable race in establishing and supporting “scientific chairs”. There is no doubt that these chairs - with their pioneering role in the scientific renaissance and human development - place great reliance on their outputs, and they also represent a true picture of the integration between the state’s universities. And its institutions.
The Hisbah - praise be to God - had a large share of this interest. There is no delusion; Hisbah is one of the main states in Islam. In fact, all states are returned to it, as was stated by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah - may God have mercy on him. It is also one of the charitable characteristics of this nation, which is what God told us in the Almighty’s saying: (You are the best of nations raised up for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid. And one away from evil and believe in God.” (Al Imran: 110)
Hence the creation of the “Women’s Research and Hisbah Issues” Chair, which was established in cooperation and partnership between the General Presidency of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice and the University of Hail, which hosts this chair. To be one of the scientific and developmental tributaries to the performance of this great ritual that has distinguished the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia throughout its history.
There is no doubt that the establishment of such chairs confirms the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may God protect him) to spread knowledge and facilitate its paths in every way possible. Several research chairs have been honored to bear his honorable name and his special support, and it is the truest proof of His glorification of the rituals of God, his adoption of Islam as a belief and way of life, and his advocacy for the issues of Islam and Muslims. Vdzah God richly rewarded.
This chair carries a special mission, which is based on: enhancing scientific research in various Hisbah fields related to women’s issues, and developing the performance of those in charge of Hisbah; To optimally deal with all women’s accounting issues.
Through this message, the Chair aims to achieve goals including:
Highlighting the leading position that women have enjoyed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Enriching knowledge and participating in producing scientific research in the field of women and hisbah issues.
Maintaining the positive values and behaviors that exist among women in Saudi society.
Identify negative practices and phenomena related to women, and propose appropriate solutions to them
Developing the performance of accountants; To optimally deal with hisbah issues related to women.
In this regard, I cannot fail to thank God Almighty for the apparent and hidden blessings He has bestowed upon us. I am also pleased to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the University of Hail, represented by His Excellency the University President, A. Dr. Khalil bin Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim; For his interest in the chair, his follow-up of its work, and his tireless efforts to support it and overcome various ways to make its activities successful.
We ask God that this chair will be an effective addition to the system of academic chairs in our Saudi universities, and a reason for achieving and maintaining the goodness of our Islamic nation.
We ask God - the Almighty - for everyone’s beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.
