About Management

The University Safety and Risk Department was established under the General Administration of Projects, Operation and Maintenance on 11/11/1444 AH to be the university's tool in providing a distinguished environment for work, study and scientific research, and this can only be achieved by exerting effort to reduce university risks and applying safety requirements in university facilities to provide a safe environment for its employees and visitors.

Organizational structure



Dept Tasks

1. Raising awareness among members of the academic community regarding mechanisms for addressing university security risks and crises.

2. Developing a future plan for managing university risks and crises and monitoring its implementation.

3. Assessing, classifying, and continuously monitoring the risks to which the university is exposed.

4. Continuously assessing and analyzing anticipated risks and crises, and developing possible scenarios for how to address them.

5. Proposing specialized awareness and training programs in the field of university risk and crisis management and submitting them to the Deanship of Quality and Development for implementation.

6. Maintaining ongoing coordination with other university departments regarding accidents and natural disasters and developing a plan for dealing with them.

7. Monitoring and evaluating the methods used in managing university risks and crises.

8. Providing technical support to all academic and administrative units and training their staff on strategies for dealing with university risks.

9. Applying international occupational safety and health standards to ensure a safe and healthy university environment.

10. Periodically evaluating and reviewing the plans of various units for dealing with risks, crises, and emergencies, and ensuring rapid response to emergencies.

11. Establishing early warning and monitoring mechanisms to alert the university to corrective measures for managing any potential risks or crises.

12. Advising the university administration on mechanisms and strategies for effectively dealing with future risks, in line with the university's strategic directions.

13. Preparing and continuously updating a documented guide to the procedures, mechanisms, and guidelines necessary for addressing risks, crises, and emergencies within the university.

14. Coordinating and expediting communication with relevant authorities to control crises and emergencies and enhance their management efficiency, thus facilitating appropriate decision-making.

15. Utilizing the expertise of specialists and experts in the field of assessing, analyzing, and managing university risks and crises.

16. Preparing periodic reports on university risks and crises and methods for addressing them, and submitting them to the appropriate authority.

17. Sharing and exchanging successful experiences and best practices in addressing university risks, emergencies, disasters, and crises, whether natural or resulting from unforeseen circumstances.

18. Participating in organizing events and activities at the university in cooperation with all relevant departments.
