The College of Applied Medical Sciences, in cooperation with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, organized several specialized workshops in the fields of radiation protection and food safety. This comes as part of the college's efforts to promote safe practices and spread health awareness in medical and food work-related environments, qualify staff, and develop their scientific and professional capabilities. The workshops discussed several specialized topics in radiation protection, presented by Dr. Fahad Al-Othaim. Most notable among these topics were the legislative and regulatory role in dealing with radiological devices and medical radioactive materials, the basic principles of radiation protection, and the national reference for determining radiation doses for patients, with a focus on mechanisms for the safe use of radiological devices within healthcare facilities. In the field of nutrition, Latifa Al-Masoud delivered a workshop on food safety and security, reviewing the basic principles and preventive measures adopted to ensure food safety.
