On Thursday, the Acting President of Hail University, Prof. Dr. Zaid bin Muhalhil Al-Shammari, presided over the closing ceremony of the Orientation Program for New Faculty Members for the academic year 1446 AH. The program, organized by the Deanship of Quality and Development, took place over three days at the College of Medicine auditorium on the university campus.
The orientation program aimed to prepare newly appointed and returning faculty members for their practical and psychological adaptation to the academic environment. At the beginning of the event, the Dean of Quality and Development, Dr. Adel bin Mohammed Al-Khalil, delivered a speech welcoming the new faculty members. He explained that the program targeted 140 new faculty members and included 12 presentations from various university units and deanships. These presentations featured introductory workshops on several university departments and administrations, such as libraries, databases, scientific research, the academic system, development and quality, community service programs, the self-service portal, health services, and more.
The ceremony also included a video presentation providing a brief overview of the university's establishment, development, colleges, deanships, departments, and administrations, as well as its global and local awards and achievements. Additionally, the presentation introduced the regulatory and administrative guidelines, and the academic services and systems available at the university, enabling faculty members to enhance their understanding of the skills related to the components and descriptions of programs and courses.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Acting President of the University, Prof. Dr. Zaid Al-Shammari, launched the training plan for the current academic year. He praised the support and attention that higher education in the Kingdom, including Hail University, receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. He emphasized to the new faculty members the importance of working in alignment with the directives and aspirations of the wise leadership to ensure the university continues to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
