About the department:
The supply process is considered one of the most important library operations in general, and it falls within the technical processes. The supply process is the primary justification for the existence of the library because it provides everything the beneficiary needs from information sources.
Provision is made through various methods, such as purchase, gifting, exchange, and deposit, after carefully selecting them, based on a specific selection policy within a specific budget, for the purpose of developing library collections and providing better services to beneficiaries.
Department tasks:
1- Working to develop information sources and provide various library materials in university libraries through supply.
2- Preparing lists of books received from the university’s faculties and working on indexing them to avoid repetition.
3- Receiving materials supplied to the library through purchase, gift, or exchange, and then distributing them to the central library and branch libraries.
4- Preparing statistics related to the materials provided to the university libraries.
5- Coordination between the Supply Department and other departments of the Deanship, whether with regard to indexing, classification, gifting, or exchange.
