Brief history of the programme

Civil Engineering

The College of Engineering (COE) at the University of Hail comprises seven departments, including the Civil Engineering (CE) Department, which was established in 2008. The department offers a comprehensive and in-depth curriculum in the field of civil engineering. The CE program is aligned with the curriculum of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), an ABET-accredited institution in Saudi Arabia, and offers the same Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering accredited by ABET-EAC. This program ensures that students acquire solid theoretical knowledge and practical experience in key civil engineering disciplines.

Along with the core Civil Engineering courses, the curriculum includes subjects in mathematics, physical sciences, English, and humanities, offering a well-rounded undergraduate education. This multidisciplinary approach fosters analytical thinking and practical design skills, equipping students with the flexibility needed for long-term career success. The program emphasizes hands-on design and laboratory experience, while also focusing on the development of teamwork and communication abilities.

The Civil Engineering program has achieved significant milestones, including earning ABET accreditation for the 2024-2030 cycle, a major accomplishment in the department's history.
