One of the most important basic responsibilities undertaken by the Quality and Accreditation Department is to lead, coordinate and support quality processes and practices in all university units and institutions through:
First: Developing commitment to improving quality through:
Supporting the culture of faculty, staff and students at the university towards the importance of quality assurance processes and knowing the strategies necessary to achieve them.
Organizing workshops, seminars, and meetings with students, faculty members, and workers to support a culture of quality with regard to academic, social, financial, and cultural guidance systems - teaching schedules, tests, office hours, systems and policies for admission,
registration, withdrawal, study attendance, apologies, and grades.
Holding, implementing and managing workshops to prepare descriptions and reports of academic programs in light of the models prepared by the National Authority for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation and reviewing them periodically.
Spreading the culture of quality among university employees and conducting studies and holding conferences, seminars, meetings and workshops in the field of quality and academic accreditation.
Developing the concept of “mission” and the concept of “objectives” in order to improve quality at the university and encourage all units to carry out similar actions, each within the scope of its activity.
Developing specific visions of what should be done at the university in terms of important developments and distinguished achievements through quality processes.
Involving stakeholders and beneficiaries of the university’s activities and its various institutions in developing quality assurance strategies, and working to raise community awareness of the important achievements being achieved.
Second: Providing assistance and support to colleges, supporting deanships, and administrative units in order to implement quality improvement plans, and this includes:
Making the necessary arrangements to nominate and appoint quality officials in the administrative units of the various educational institutions at the university.
Providing and organizing the necessary training for university staff on quality assurance processes.
Providing or organizing appropriate training on teaching strategies and assessment processes related to the different types of intended learning outcomes.
Cooperating with colleges, supporting deanships, and administrative units during preparation or appointment programs for new workers to provide the necessary awareness and support programs to achieve quality assurance strategies.
Assisting in preparing quality improvement plans and evaluative processes for administrative units.
Developing and approving standard (official) forms used for the purpose of conducting surveys and reports on quality indicators such as evaluating education and operations, surveying the opinions of employers and graduates, forms for describing programs and
specializations, and other reports in general.
Providing technical support for calculating validity and reliability for tasks related to evaluation and evaluation survey operations.
Conducting periodic surveys of graduates and other beneficiaries of the university.
Designing questionnaires for the human factor (students - faculty members - employees).
Providing support and advice to the various university units regarding issues of quality and academic accreditation.
Follow up on the procedures for adopting and matching the specifications of the educational program in scientific departments with the requirements and standards of the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Reference Marks.
Continuous communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries, and seeking their opinions and advice regarding quality development strategies.
Documenting all stages and procedures through the Deanship Council’s preservation, archiving, recording and accreditation system.
Follow up on the preparation and filling out forms for describing and reporting academic courses, teaching methods, evaluation methods, and examinations in accordance with the requirements of the standards of the National Authority for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation.
Assisting internal units to identify independent evaluators to assist them in their activities related to quality assurance, while taking their advice on ways to develop quality.
Providing reference materials and disseminating information about developments related to quality assurance and accreditation, and about good ideas applied in other universities, whether within Saudi Arabia or in other countries, which would help work crews in developing quality.
Preparing a mechanism for organized communication with all units and administrations in various colleges and supporting deanships.
Helping colleges establish quality assurance systems.
Internal review of all quality activities and outcomes at the university.
Formulating performance indicators in academic programs.
Preparing a vision for standards for spaces, buildings and human resources.
Preparing a vision for some competitive projects to qualify programs for academic accreditation.
Third: Coordinating the university’s comprehensive strategies towards emphasizing quality development:
Develop a plan to improve quality at the university as a whole.
Establishing appropriate mechanisms to prepare, review, and document the visions and mission of the university units and their strategic goals.
Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and values to be adhered to.
Follow up on the design and implementation of operational plans.
Develop executive plans for internal audits.
Keep files and records of plans, reports, statistical information and other information for reference from time to time, and follow up on improvement plans, monitor implementation and evaluate success.
Follow up on the system of preserving, archiving, recording and monitoring all scientific, educational, research and community activities in the university units.
Designing and developing various mechanisms to improve communication with beneficiaries, improve teaching and learning processes, scientific research, community service, and student and academic guidance.
Coordinating and leading the preparations and management of external institutional evaluation processes, and coordinating this process with the external programmatic evaluation processes to which the relevant programs at the university, its colleges, and its supporting
deanship are subject.
Fourth: Preparing reports on quality assurance developments for all university institutions:
Follow up on the preparation of annual reports on quality assurance, review them, and present them to senior management and the Board of Directors, detailing key performance indicators and fixed information, based on internal unit reports.
Design review protocols and evaluative meetings.
Writing periodic reports on the results of review and evaluation.
Leading and preparing self-studies (internal) and reviewing them at the university level (institutional self-evaluation) and coordinating them to coincide with the timing and implementation of self-studies at the program level (programmatic self-evaluation) in all university
institutional operations.
