Tasks of the Deanship of Graduate Studies
1. Presidency of the Graduate Studies Council at the University of Hail.
2. Follow up on the implementation of the systems and regulations of the Unified Regulations for Postgraduate Studies, in addition to the decisions of the Council of the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and the University Council related to postgraduate studies.
3. Organizing the technical, administrative and financial affairs of postgraduate studies and coordinating them with the relevant authorities.
4. Issuing decisions implementing the issues approved by the Council.
5. Developing the university’s relationship with institutions interested in higher studies at home and abroad and supporting them.
6. Developing the university’s relationship with local research bodies, centers, and units, and Arab and foreign centers, organizations, and universities.
7. Submitting secondary reports on the progress of graduate studies to the University Council at the end of each academic year after their approval by the Council of the Deanship of Graduate Studies.
Duties of the Graduate Studies Council
1. Proposing or amending the general policy for postgraduate studies, coordinating it in all colleges and institutes of the university, and following up on its implementation after its approval.
2. Proposing internal regulations in coordination with scientific departments regarding the organization of graduate studies.
3. Proposing, implementing and supervising the foundations for admission to postgraduate studies.
4. Recommending the approval of new programs after studying them and coordinating between them and existing programs.
5. Recommending approval of postgraduate courses and any amendments or changes to them or programs.
6. Recommending the titles of graduate degrees in Arabic and English based on the recommendation of college councils.
7. Recommending the granting of academic degrees.
8. Deciding on all student affairs related to postgraduate students at the university.
9. Approval of the formation of supervision committees and discussion of scientific theses.
10. Establishing the general framework for the research plan and the rules regulating how to write, print, produce and submit the scientific thesis, as well as forms for the discussion committee’s reports and judging the theses.
11. Evaluating graduate studies programs at the university on a periodic basis by specialized committees or bodies from within or outside the university.
12. Study the periodic reports submitted by the scientific departments at the university.
13. Consider what the university council, its president, or the university director refers to it for study and to express an opinion.
