Department of Community Health Nursing

The community Health Nursing department was created in 1429 AH as one of the foundational departments for the establishment of the College of Nursing at the University of Hail, as the vision and mission of the department are derived from the vision and mission of the College of Nursing. Community health nursing is a branch of nursing that aims to promote the highest level of health, well-being, and disease prevention for the individual, family, and community. Moreover, this department focuses on providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to assess community health problems, promote the concepts of health and disease prevention, and raise the level of health awareness and quality of life in the community

Vision, Mission and Goals

Vision

Community Health Nursing Department seeks to be distinguished department at local and regional level. Equipping students with skills to provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative services to individual, family and community.

Mission

Prepare a skilled community health nurse able to provide comprehensive nursing care in various community setting by using level of prevention, and conduct a scientific research based on the needs of surrounding community and urgent health conditions.

Goals

 The Department of Community Health Nursing's Goals are to:

Provide students with a high-quality education in the area of community health.
Prepare the students to work as effective professionals in the community and nursing leaders.
Preparing nurses capable of health education to increase individual, family and community awareness of healthy behavior.
Conduct research to add to the body of knowledge in public and community health nursing.

The Community Health Nursing Department seeks to be a distinguished department at local and regional levels. Equipping students with skills to provide preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services to individuals, families, and communities. The department also offers a master's program in primary care nursing.

The community health nursing department is committed to expanding knowledge, doing research in a variety of settings, and focusing on the following:

Individuals, family, and community Health Education
Raising health awareness level for high-risk populations for diseases
Risk factors drive the most deaths and disabilities.
Prevention and control of infectious diseases
Prevention and control of non-communicable diseases
Nursing management and the health care system
