Brief history of the programme

Computer Engineering.

The Computer Engineering (COE) Program at the University of Ha'il was established in 2005 and offers a comprehensive bachelor's degree in computer engineering. Since its inception, the program has been dedicated to maintaining a mission and objectives that reflect both academic excellence and industry relevance. Over the years, the COE program has undergone regular reviews to ensure its alignment with the evolving field of computer engineering, providing high-quality, internationally recognized education that equips graduates to excel in prominent public and private sector roles within Ha'il and beyond.

To achieve consistency between its mission and broader institutional goals, the COE program has actively engaged with its stakeholders, conducting surveys and consultations to shape its objectives. This commitment to quality and relevance has made the program a leader in local advancements, hosting prominent events like the International Conference on Recent Advances in Computer Systems (RACS) in 2015, the International Conference on Cybersecurity (ICSC) in 2019, and the International Conference on Smart Computing and Applications (ICSCA) in 2023.

Guided by a mission that emphasizes education, research, and community service, the COE program also supports a strategic approach to its development initiatives, which are aligned with the university's strategic plan. Since 2019, the program has worked on refining its mission and goals, supported by an operational plan focused on continuous improvement in academic standards, research output, and community engagement. This approach ensures that the COE program remains a driving force in computer engineering education, contributing to technological and scientific progress both locally and on an international scale.
