Brief history of the programme

Software Engineering.

The Bachelor of Software Engineering program was established at the College of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Hail in 2005 AD by a decision of the Ministry of Education. The Software Engineering program uses the latest information and computer technologies to impart knowledge to our engineering students which includes centralized digital admission process, signage system, whiteboard, well-equipped practical skill improvement laboratories and technical support. .

The Software Engineering program is currently enrolling students as per government guidelines. Several batches of software engineering graduates have successfully graduated from the program and most of them have secured jobs and scholarships for higher training in developed countries such as the USA, UK, Australia or New Zealand.

The Software Engineering program was developed and established based on the following objectives:

Economic reasons

Developing a cadre of young Saudi graduates to cover the deficit in software engineering and industry.

Producing software processes and products with a focus on national and international markets.

Scientific consultations in the field of software engineering or national and international projects.

Providing training courses in software development, programming languages, databases, packages and tools to serve the community.

Acceptance Criteria in Program

First: Conditions and criteria for transferring from one program to another within the college:

It allows the student to be transferred from one program to another within the College of Computer Science and Engineering according to the following:

The student is allowed to change his major twice a maximum, and the relevant department has the right to make an exception to this again after the approval of the department council to which he is transferred and the college council.
The remaining regular period of the student’s study must be sufficient to complete graduation requirements.
The student's cumulative GPA must be consistent with the transfer rates table attached herewith.
The transfer must be quarterly and according to the available seats and differentiation criteria approved by the college.

The student must have successfully completed all requirements of the preparatory year (scientific track) and must have a high school diploma from the scientific department (natural sciences).
The student must be a regular at the college from which he is transferring and has spent at least one academic year there.
The transfer applicant must not have previously transferred during his university studies.
The student's cumulative GPA must be consistent with the transfer rates table attached herewith.
The transfer must be quarterly and according to the available seats and differentiation criteria approved by the college.
