The Deanship of Scientific Research at Hail University, represented by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, organized a workshop entitled "Methodology of Innovation in Products" which was presented by Dr. Sarhan Shaban Al-Shamrani, a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering in the College of Engineering, on Tuesday evening, Shawwal 14, 1445 AH corresponding to (April 23, 2024) in the theater of the College of Engineering.

Dr. Sarhan bin Shaban Al-Shamrani began the workshop with a presentation on the development journey from basic research to technology development and then to product development, indicating that industrial competitiveness currently depends largely on product development. He then discussed the types of innovative opportunities, their patterns, and their relationship to capabilities and resources.

Dr. Sarhan Al-Shamrani explained that product development is an interactive process between parts of the organization, work teams, and stakeholders, stressing the importance of focusing on sustainability through the concept of design for the environment, design for manufacturing, and supply chains.

The attendees discussed the importance of putting forward innovative ideas in research tracks and brainstorming to create products with more distinctive and creative characteristics.

At the conclusion of the workshop, outstanding students in the student innovation competition were honored, as well as the team of student volunteers for activating Innovation Week at the College of Engineering.
