About the College

Welcome to College of Sharia and Law at University of Hail

One of the great blessings that brought good news to the people of the Hail region is the opening of the College of Sharia and Law at the university, pursuant to the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, on the minutes of the Higher Education Council session No. (66) by generous telegraphic directive No. (54727) and dated 11/18/1432 AH.

This college is our goal - which we hope from God Almighty - to be a beacon for receiving Sharia knowledge based on its principles established by scholars - may God have mercy on them - and for generations to graduate from it qualified in Sharia knowledge, competing in the service of their religion and their country in the various fields of judiciary, teaching, investigation, issuing fatwas, and Invitation and more.

Our goal is for this college to also be a beacon in receiving (formal) legal sciences according to its principles that are compatible with the systems and laws of this blessed country and its basic system, and for generations to graduate from it competing in the service of their religion and their country in the various legal fields, and thanks to God Almighty first. Finally, to our governors for approving the opening of this college, and thanks go to the Minister of Higher Education and his deputy, then thanks go to His Excellency the Director of the University of Hail for his commendable efforts in supporting this college.

Brief history

The College of Sharia and Law at the University was established by the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Prime Minister, as per the minutes of the Higher Education Council meeting No. (66), under the Royal Directive No. (54727) dated Sunday, 18/11/1432 AH. The Royal Decree was issued approving the opening of the College of Sharia and Law at the University of Hail. The staff of the College, including its Dean, Vice Deans, and the Higher Advisory Committee for this College, which was formed by a decision of His Excellency, exerted considerable effort. The university director laid the first foundations for this college, starting with its mission, vision, and goals, and ending with the description of its courses, the details of the study in it, and the academic departments in it. In this, certain goals were taken into consideration, including: that the college be a beacon for receiving Sharia knowledge on its principles established by scholars, and that generations graduate from it who contribute effectively to serving their religion and their country in various fields, judicially and educationally. The college comprises three academic departments: the Department of Islamic Studies, the Department of Law, and the Department of Islamic Jurisprudence and its Foundations.

Since its inception, the college has offered a Bachelor of Sharia program for male students. The first cohort graduated from this program at the end of the 2017 academic year. More recently, the college launched a Bachelor of Sharia program for female students to meet community needs. The program for female students commenced in 2020.

The college also offers several postgraduate programs across its three departments, including:

● A Master of Jurisprudence program (an academic Master's degree in Islamic Jurisprudence and its Foundations).

● Master's Program in Islamic Jurisprudence (Academic Master's in the Department of Islamic Jurisprudence and its Foundations).

● Master's Program in Islamic Creed (Academic Master's in the Department of Islamic Studies).

● Master's Program in Executive Law (Executive Master's in the Department of Law).

● Master's Program in Commercial Law (Academic Master's in the Department of Law).

I ask God Almighty to help us fulfill our trust and carry out this task well, and to facilitate for us the matter of this task with guidance. Indeed, our Lord is All-Hearing.
