The Research Chairs Program at the University of Hail is one of the fruits of the hard and tireless work of His Excellency the University President, aiming to achieve the strategic vision of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, and the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Anqari, for the Saudi University to play a role. The College of Engineering at the University of Hail is considered a distinguished scientific edifice and a house of expertise with its academic competencies that have been attracted in recent years. Strategic plans have been developed to activate these competencies within the framework of the system of scientific research and academic work in a way that contributes to serving society and developing a national economy based on knowledge and the latest engineering and administrative methods. . Praise be to God, these plans have resulted in the launch of the “Al-Muallem Mohammed Bin Laden Al-Moallem Mohammed Bin Laden Chair for Quality and Productivity Research in the Fields of Construction,” with generous support from the Saudi Bin Laden Group, which has bright fingerprints and major contributions to the development of the infrastructure that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia abounds with, starting from Expanding the Two Holy Mosques to include highways, airports, and water desalination plants, and financing scientific research chairs in many Saudi universities. The research chair will, God willing, be one of the basic pillars of the giant projects of economic cities such as King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh and Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed Economic City in the Hail region and for the accompanying quality movement through the transfer and localization of knowledge and the development of applied research in the field of quality systems and their application in the field of building and construction.

The Master Muhammad Bin Laden Research Chair for Quality and Productivity Research in the Construction Sector will work to embody the strategic vision and wise direction of the country’s senior leadership towards quality and standards of institutional excellence by working within an integrated system of specialized research programs and scientific and technical partnerships with distinguished international centers and institutes in the field of quality and productivity. Institutional excellence and specialized regional and local organizations, as well as providing training services to the local community in the areas of quality and its applications in the field of construction. The scientific team in charge of the research chair will work, through its scientific and academic expertise, to transfer and localize quality techniques and tools and concepts of institutional excellence and contribute to disseminating them at all levels in various economic sectors, with a focus on the construction and urbanization sector. This will be done through designing, developing and implementing a series of workshops, training courses and scientific conferences in the field of quality and institutional excellence, as well as working to create a network of relationships and partnerships with international bodies specialized in the field of quality and institutional excellence. The coming years, God willing, will be full of scientific achievements, and the research chair will play a fundamental role in developing the scientific research system at the University of Hail in particular and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general.

The vision of the Research Chair is to work to achieve leadership locally, regionally and globally in the field of quality and productivity improvement research and its application in the construction sector. To achieve this vision, the “Al-Muallem Muhammad Bin Laden” Research Chair for Quality and Productivity Research in the Field of Construction works to be the primary supporter of the giant construction projects of the new economic cities through transferring and localizing knowledge and developing applied research in the field of quality systems and their application in the field of construction and urbanism.
