Department Overview

His Excellency the President of the University approved the establishment of the Cybersecurity Department under Decision No. 350/41, dated 14/05/1441 AH (corresponding to 09/01/2020). The department was established as an independent unit reporting directly to the University President. It is responsible for ensuring compliance with cybersecurity controls, enhancing the university's cybersecurity posture, reducing cyber risks, and protecting the university's information and technology assets.

In light of the accelerating digital transformation across higher education institutions and the increasing reliance on digital systems and information assets in supporting academic and administrative operations, cybersecurity has become a strategic necessity for safeguarding the University of Hail’s digital environment and ensuring the continuity, reliability, and resilience of its services.

The Cybersecurity Administration is committed to establishing a secure and trusted digital ecosystem that protects the University's information assets and the data of its employees, students, and stakeholders. This commitment is achieved through strengthening cybersecurity governance, implementing national cybersecurity controls and standards, proactively managing cyber risks and threats, enhancing incident response capabilities, and continuously improving cybersecurity practices across the University.

We also place significant emphasis on promoting cybersecurity awareness and fostering a security-conscious culture among all members of the University community, recognizing that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility that requires collective commitment and collaboration.

Through these efforts, the Administration contributes to enhancing trust in the University’s digital services, supporting operational excellence, and enabling secure digital transformation in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and national cybersecurity priorities.

We remain dedicated to continuous development and innovation in cybersecurity practices to ensure a secure digital future that supports the University’s mission and strategic aspirations.

The Cybersecurity Administration is committed to providing a secure and resilient digital environment by implementing cybersecurity controls and standards that protect the University's information and technology assets. The Administration promotes a culture of shared responsibility for cybersecurity, strengthens the protection of the University's cyberspace against cyber threats, safeguards the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information, and supports the continuity of secure digital services for all beneficiaries.

  1. Enhance cybersecurity awareness among all members of the University community.

  2. Strengthen cybersecurity governance and ensure compliance with applicable policies, controls, and standards.

  3. Protect the University's information and technology assets from cyber threats and risks.

  4. Deliver effective and high-quality cybersecurity services and solutions.



Organizational Structure

Department Tasks

The Cybersecurity Administration is responsible for the following:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable national and international cybersecurity laws, regulations, frameworks, and standards.
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness and ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices across the University.
  • Provide high-quality cybersecurity services that support the University's digital transformation and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct security reviews and source code assessments of the University's systems to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate with specialized cybersecurity service providers to strengthen the protection of the University's information systems.
  • Identify, assess, and analyze cybersecurity risks and potential attack vectors.
  • Perform digital forensic analysis and investigate cybersecurity incidents affecting the University's networks and systems.
  • Monitor the University's systems and security infrastructure to ensure operational readiness and resilience against cyber threats.
  • Prepare periodic cybersecurity reports, metrics, and performance statistics to support informed decision-making.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the University administration within the scope of the Administration's responsibilities.
