​Special Education

About Program

​The special education program consists of eight levels of study. During which the student is provided with a set of knowledge and skills related to educational studies. Where the student is concerned with studying educational sciences in its various specializations During the first four levels. Then at the beginning of the fifth level the student is allocated to one of the five tracks in the program (Learning Difficulties Track - Mental Excellence and Innovation Track - Hearing Impairment Track - Visual Impairment Track - Mental Disability Track) Then, in the eighth level, the student is required to perform field training to combine theory and application.

Vision

​The future vision, which is to achieve a distinguished educational position to serve people with special needs in accordance with human and Islamic values ​​and the needs of Saudi society in harmony with international quality standards.​

Message

​Raising the level of services for people with special needs and providing an educational and learning environment with a high level of efficiency and effectiveness that prepares and qualifies trained and qualified cadres to deal with people with special needs so that these cadres become able to compete locally and globally.

Gools

  1. Preparing and qualifying special education teachers to work with people with special needs in the primary and middle stages and special education programs affiliated with the Ministry of Education. As well as to work in the private sector, such as charitable organizations and private schools that provide educational services for people with special needs.
  2. Improving the quality level in preparing trained and scientifically qualified cadres in the field of care for people with special needs.
  3. Providing advisory services in the field of special education to educational and social agencies that provide services for people with special needs, whether governmental or private.
  4. Design and implement specialized training courses in the field of special education (visual disability, hearing disability, learning difficulties, mental excellence, and mental retardation). Independently or in cooperation with various sectors of society.
  5. Establishing a research data based on conducting specialized research and studies in the fields of special education.
  6. Scientific partnership with special education departments in universities, local and international research centers in the field of conducting theoretical and applied research and studies for people with special needs.​

Acceptance Criteria in Program
  1. The cumulative GPA for the preparatory year should not be less than 2.25 out of 4.           
  2. To be medically fit.​

  2. To have the ability to innovate and develop in the field of dealing with people with special needs.
  3. To be able to use modern and innovative technologies.
  4. To have research skills that enable him to complete his specialized graduate studies in the future.

  • Knowledge of sign language to deal with deaf people.
  • Knows the design and implementation of special individual educational programs.
  • Knowing strategies to protect people with special needs from violence.
  • Knowledge of behavior modification methods used with people with special needs
