In April of this year, HCC’s office of Cooperative Education and Graduate Placement launched a survey to establish a Job Information Service for the college’s graduates. For this new service, Hail Community College depends clearly on the cooperation and support of Saudi Arabia’s key employers, which in turn receive valuable assistance in their Saudization efforts.

The Employment Forecast Survey was sent to 220 companies and organizations in the Kingdom including the “Top 100 Companies” published by ARAB NEWS and all the Co-op partners that are supporting our training programs.

As of May 19, about 12% of the survey forms had been completed and returned which in itself reflects already the outstanding reputation the college has achieved since its inauguration in 1998. Upon a first assessment of the staff requirements disclosed in the returned survey forms; it is safe to say that hundreds of career opportunities are awaiting HCC’s graduates. In more detail, the 3 departments, which are currently charged with graduating Associates of Applied Science, have received the following responses.

Accounting and Management Information Systems: 60

Computer Science and Software Engineering: 38

Applied Electrical Engineering: 25

Evaluating these numbers, it is mandatory to keep in mind that 60 responses could well equate to 300 jobs. The Employment Forecast Survey was designed to elicit only general data about job openings in the near future, not exact numbers. For obvious reasons, companies would be hesitant to disclose vital strategic employment information.
