Dr. Ahmed Alam Eddine's Farewell Party

After twenty-three years of continuous service at KFUPM and six years at HCC, Dr. Ahmed Alam Eddine, former chairman of the Math department has recently retired.

Before Dr. Alam Eddine joined the college since its inauguration in 1998, he also taught at KFUPM which he joined in 1975. Besides teaching, he was actively participating in research projects within the Math department. His long teaching experience played an important role in establishing the Math department at HCC. His contributions to the department and to the college have been excellent. In addition to his teaching experience, managerial skills, and personal demeanor, Dr. Alam Eddine was also known for his pleasant character, wisdom, and patience to deal with the most delicate situations. He is liked by his colleagues, students, friends, and the community. Though we all miss him, he definitely deserves an enjoyable retirement.

Dr. Alam Eddine is returning to Lebanon to join his family and friends. A farewell party, which coincides with the faculty members and their families’ reunion end of last year, was organized to honor him.  The party was honored with the presence of the Dean of HCC, Dr. Mohammed A. Al-Naafa who gave a speech on this occasion in which he said that Dr. Alam Eddine is more than just a colleague; he is indeed one of the members of the HCC growing family.

He briefed the audience of his early moments of his acquaintance with Dr. Alam Eddine at KFUPM and how the latter was called upon to join HCC. The Dean also added that Dr. Alam Eddine’s enthusiasm as well as his wisdom to solve problems and motivate his team has certainly helped in placing the Math department at forefront.

The Dean concluded his speech by thanking Dr. Alam Eddine and wishing him all the best and continuous success in life. He further indicated that although Dr. Ahmed will be sorely missed, we all wish him to enjoy more time with his family and grandchildren.

As a reward of his diligent work during the long past years, the Dean awarded Dr. Alam Eddine with a commemorative plaque. Dr. Alam Eddine thanked the Dean and appreciated the Dean’s heartfelt words. Dr. Ahmed Alam Eddine also thanked his colleagues and who ever worked with him and said that it was a great feeling to receive recognition for work being covered for many years.
