About the college:
The implementation of the preparatory year program at University of Hai'l is a fundamental requirement and an urgent need to bridge the gap between the compulsory schooling outputs and university education. It aims at creating a link between secondary education and university courses that need more preparation in core subjects such as English language, mathematics and general science.
The program focuses on discipline and developing the students educational skills and their own capacities. It gives an immediate attention of providing students with a distinctive kind of education. It also focuses on practical training and promotes cooperation, sense of responsibility, creative thinking and teamwork.
1-Reducing the large gap between the secondary school education and the university education through strengthening the scientific knowledge of the students and developing their methodological and intellectual abilities
2-Providing students with the basic principles of different branches of science to facilitate their enrollment in university
3-Improving university basic skills in English language, computer, and thinking skills
4-preparing students to make the most of the available learning services at university
5-Increasing the students' sense of belonging to their country and university
6-Motivating students to participate actively in cultural, social, and sports activities
7-Training students in communication skills, scientific research, and building and developing the personality
On the basis of the preparatory year's message which aims at making a bridge between preparatory year and majors that students want to choose in the future, three academic tracks were created where a student studies the track which is consistent with his/her scientific abilities and the major he/ she would like to choose. In addition to that, students are distributed in the tracks based on their secondary grade average and the national assessment test (Qiyas).
1- Medical colleges track:
Track description: it includes all the basic subject materials that students need to move to the following colleges: medicine, dentistry, public health, applied medical sciences, and pharmacy.
A student is registered in one of the two groups in the first semester, whereas he/ she registers the same group during the second semester.
2- Engineering and Science colleges track:
Track description: it includes all the basic subject materials that students need to move to the following colleges: engineering, science, computer science, engineering, and management.
3- Humanities colleges track: it includes all the basic subject materials that students need to move to the following colleges: arts, education, Sharia, and law.
